What's the problem?
o Trying new Linux distro can take your time and resource e.g. find a test machine, or start up VMware or such, install from CD, and and and...
o I always install Linux on this and that machine. For me myself, for friend, for whomever, answering installing question again and again...
So what?
o install it once and then make T A R images!
Rew Rew Linux Images
All Rew Rew Linux images can be downloaded from "http://linux.thai.net/pub/rewrew/":http://linux.thai.net/pub/rewrew/. Some of the images are hi-lighted here:
o "Debian woody":http://www.debian.org/ , this is the 47-MB base system image after rebooting for the first time when installing Woody. You should fire up /usr/sbin/base-config to further configure the system after chrooting inside there. Download it right "here":ftp://linux.thai.net/pub/rewrew/woody-20030429.tar.gz
o "Linux-TLE 5.0":http://www.opentle.org/ , this is the 91-MB very minimal (as I could make it) image of Linux-TLE 5.0. Download it "here":ftp://linux.thai.net/pub/rewrew/tle5-20030429.tar.gz
How to use?
- unpack it somewhere e.g. cd /chroot/woody ; tar xzvf /some/where/woody-xxxxx.tar.gz
- be root and then chroot to that path e.g. chroot /chroot/woody
- that's it! You are inside that Rew Rew Linux version, feel free to experiment what you want
Note 1: for Debian image, try run /usr/sbin/base-config to configure the system further
Note 2: probably you might need to mount /proc filesystem in order to be able to ps or such.
